Pilot uninjured after plane comes down in the Commonage

Further details about the afternoon incident are unknown at this time

A pilot had to make an emergency landing Sunday afternoon.

It’s believed the pilot was preparing to land at the Vernon Airport at about 5:30 p.m. but, instead, the small private plane came down in a pasture near the Allan Brooks Nature Centre in the Commonage.

“The pilot was having a bit of trouble. There was a rough landing,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.

The pilot was uninjured and it’s not known if the Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
