Lumby RCMP continues to investigate a Cherryville home invasion.

A 69-year-old tenant of a home suffered injuries after somebody broke into the home in the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 28.

“There was a burglary and assault,” said Lumby RCMP Cpl. Trevor Tribes. “We are saying very little at this point as we actively continue to investigate.”

It is believed the suspect or suspects forced their way into the residence, assaulted the man and stole various items from the home.

Tribes did say that the attack was not random.

“We believe this was a targeted incident,” he said.

Anybody with any information is asked to call the Lumby RCMP at 250-547-2151, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
