Police investigate theft from Lumby landfill

Sometime overnight from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15, someone broke into the quonset hut at the landfill on Trinity Valley Road.

Lumby RCMP are investigating the theft of a safe from the regional district landfill.

Sometime overnight from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15, someone broke into the quonset hut at the landfill on Trinity Valley Road.

“Suspects pried open the exterior door and cut the lock off an inside door to gain entry,” said Cpl. Henry Proce, officer in charge of the Lumby RCMP.

Once inside, the thief or thieves stole a small wall safe containing cash.

Police have some leads to follow up on and are asking for public assistance.
