Police make arrest in alleged Enderby arson

RCMP are investigating an arson on George Street in Enderby.

An arrest has been made in an alleged arson in Enderby.

On Sunday at 8:25 p.m., an RCMP officer was on patrol and saw a woodshed on fire behind a home in the 1600 block of George Street.

"Police ensured the safety of the occupants of the surrounding houses while the fire department extinguished the blaze," said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

"No one was injured as result of the fire. However, the shed was destroyed and there was some damage done to a nearby truck."

Investigators arrested a 72-year-old man for arson Sunday night.

"He has been released from custody on a promise to appear for provincial court at a later time. His name is not being released at this time," said Noseworthy.
