Road conditions in rural Enderby are getting a rough ride.

Director Herman Halvorson says he’s increasingly hearing from residents about the state of roads from Mabel Lake to Mara.

“We’ve got lots of potholes everywhere. It’s a disaster,” he said.

“Many roads are in all kinds of trouble.”

Some potholes are four to six inches deep on the Enderby-Mabel Lake Road.

“You really have to dodge them,” said Halvorson.

Other roads that are particularly challenging include Grandview Bench and Springbend.

And with there being long distances between homes and communities in the sprawling electoral area, roads are vital infrastructure.

“People depend on them,” said Halvorson.

Complaints have been forwarded to the Ministry of Transportation but little has occurred, partly because the operation of the government has been on hold since the election.

“They are patching here and there but that’s all they’re doing,” said Halvorson.
