Power has been restored after a downed hydro wire knocked out power to approximately 88 Vernon residents.

Power was off since 10:30 a.m. for residents near 32nd Avenue and Alexis Park Elementary. It was restored by 1:30 p.m.

BC Hydro confirmed that a bird contacting the wires resulted in the outage.
