Northern Lake Country power has been restored

The power outage started at 7:05 a.m.

UPDATE 1:15 p.m. - According to B.C. Hydro, power has been restored in the area.

The cause of the fire that caused the outage was a bird’s nest. The branches made contact with the wires, causing the fire.

UPDATE 8:30 a.m. - Power is estimated to be back on at 1 p.m. according to B.C. Hydro. They are now on scene.

More than 3,500 B.C. Hydro customers in Northern Lake Country woke up to a power outage on Thursday morning (May 12).

The outage is due to an apparent power pole that caught fire.

The power went out at 7:05 a.m. and a B.C. Hydro crew has been assigned. The last update was at 7:18 a.m.

This is the third outage to happen in the area in less than a week.
