Predator Ridge lights up for holiday season

Predator Ridge hosts Winter Wonderland Community Light Up Sunday

Predator Ridge is getting into the holiday spirit.

As snow begins to blanket the greens, the golf resort is kicking off the holiday season with the annual Winter Wonderland Community Light Up Sunday.

The family-friendly event, where acting like a child is strongly encouraged, goes from 3 to 6 p.m.

“It’s all about family and community and doing something together on Sunday,” said Ingrid Dilschneider, Predator Ridge’s director of sales and marketing.

Holiday music will fill the crisp air, while horse-drawn wagon rides take place throughout the resort, wide-eyed children visit with Santa and get their pictures taken and everyone can stay warm roasting marshmallows by the bonfire or indulging in chef’s hot chocolate buffet where you can add your own whipping cream, sprinkles and top it off with a cherry.

You can also stop by the Elves Workstation for crafts and cookie decorating, play a game of ball hockey or go for a pony ride.

Just be sure not to miss the official countdown to the tree lighting at approximately 4:30 p.m.

“The winter light up is quite spectacular,” said Dilschneider of the event that lights up the entire boulevard.

The entire event is free but cash and non-perishable food donations will be accepted for the Vernon food bank.

“Last year, we got two trailers full so we’re hoping to beat that this year,” said Dilschneider, who is also encouraging everyone to come early in order to find parking.
