Vernon RCMP have located a stolen scooter and returned it to its owner, thanks to a tip from a member of the public.

During the night of March 8, an unknown person stole a mobile scooter, valued at approximately $500, from the front of a residence on 30th Avenue in Vernon.

“The owner of the scooter has mobility issues and required it for day-to-day-living,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

On Tuesday, a member of the general public phoned the Vernon RCMP and reported that a scooter had been left abandoned on 27th Avenue.

Police were able to confirm that this was the scooter that had been stolen, and returned it to it’s rightful owner.

“The owner is extremely grateful to have his scooter returned to him,” said Molendyk.

Vernon RCMP encourage members of the public to continue assisting them in solving crime and keeping the communities safe.
