RCMP Southeast District's major crimes unit to host conference Thursday in Armstrong for update on Halloween night murder of Armstrong teen

Police have called a news conference for Thursday at 1 p.m. for an investigation update in connection with the 2011 Halloween night homicide of Armstrong teen Taylor Van Diest (pictured).

Police have called a news conference for Thursday at 1 p.m. for an investigation update in connection with the 2011 Halloween night homicide of Armstrong teen Taylor Van Diest (pictured).

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit will host a news conference Thursday in order to update the public regarding the Taylor Van Diest homicide investigation.

The 18-year-old Armstrong girl was attacked Halloween night with her injured body being found by family and friends near the Rosedale Avenue railways tracks. She died in Kelowna General Hospital that night.

The news conference will take place at 1 p.m. in the City of Armstrong council chambers.

In a news release, the police are asking for the media’s cooperation and are advising that details regarding this update will not be discussed prior to the media conference due to the current and sensitive status of the investigation.
