In light of the continuing teachers strike, and to help ensure students are not falling behind in their reading, the Junction Literacy Centre will be offering small group reading sessions for students in grades 1-7. Sessions will begin Monday, Sept. 8.
“We recognize that parents are going to be anxious about their child falling behind,” said Wendy Aasen, executive director. “Our reading tutors are qualified teachers who have been trained in district reading methodology and can help students refresh and build their reading skills.”
Parents may sign up their students for two 50-minute sessions Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs for $40 /week. Sessions start at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
