Some Lavington residents may be without water, and some motorists will be taking the long way around next week.

Road closures and water shutoffs start Tuesday as the District of Coldstream works on a water main.

The upgrades will take place from May 31 to June 3 at the intersection of Highway 6 and Park Lane. The closures will span 12 hours daily, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A detour route making use of Hill Drive, Pentworth Road and Springfield road will be marked, with traffic control on site. Drivers are asked to obey all traffic signals.

Water service will be shut off from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to residents as outlined in red on the maps below.
