There was assistance for a distressed individual in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park

There was assistance for a distressed individual in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.

Vernon Search and Rescue was called by B.C. Ambulance Wednesday at about 8:30 p.m. after a mountain biker required medical assistance.

“Our crew brought him out on a quad from the trail system out on the top,” said Pete Wise, search master.

Paramedics took the cyclist to hospital and the extent of his medical condition is not known.

Search and Rescue converged on the red gate with extensive resources.

“It was a full blown response, we had a large turnout. It’s very steep terrain, it’s pretty rugged in there,” said Wise.
