There’s still some time to hit the slopes at Silver Star Mountain Resort.

The alpine season wraps up Saturday and Sunday and currently, there is an alpine base of almost 2.5 metres.

“The conditions are amazing,” said Erik Kalacis, sales and marketing director.

“It’s been a brilliant season and I’d encourage everyone to come up and enjoy the last few days.”

New for 2016 is the Slush Cup and Super Hero Day Saturday. It is a puddle jump/pond skim where skiers and snowboarders compete to get across a large puddle of water. The winner gets to take home a brand new pair of K2 skis.

“Super Hero Day can be part of Slush Cup, or not,” said Kalacis.

“We are encouraging participants to jump the pond dressed as their favourite super hero, or they can simply let their inner vigilante out for the day and enjoy the fantastic spring skiing and snowboarding out on the mountain.”

You can register for free outside of Town Hall until 10 a.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, Retro Day returns. It is once again time to dust off the old gear and ski or snowboard in your tightest and brightest old-school outfits. Everyone is invited to strut their stuff at 3 p.m. in the village.

While Sunday is the last day of the ski season, the mountain won’t be quiet for long.

From April 8 to 10, the second annual Silver Star Hill Climb returns with sled and snow bike racing.

Snowmobilers and snow bikers can register at www.skisilverstar.com.
