Seaton Sonics advance to B.C. High School AA Soccer final four

Sonics will play for bronze after falling 4-0 to St. Michael's Tuesday afternoon.

The Sonics' will play for third place Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Seaton Sonics are guaranteed to play for a medal at the B.C. High School AA Boys soccer championships in Burnaby.

The Sonics played Brentwood College of Mill Bay to a scoreless draw Tuesday morning.

With both teams finishing the preliminary round with 2-0-1 records, penalty kicks were needed to determine who would finish first in the pool and advance to the semifinals.

Seaton beat Brentwood College 5-3 in the penalty kicks, getting an enormous save from keeper Jonas Kerksen to advance while Jared Quibell, Chris McIntosh, Maguire Lauridsen, Damon Marlow and Kenzel Aarts-Roman scored from the spot for the Sonics.

Seaton beat the LV Rogers Bombers of Nelson 1-0 and the Sands Scorpions of Delta 2-0 in preliminary round action Monday.

Quibell scored on a penalty kick for Seaton in the win over the Bombers.

Patrecio (Pato) Iniguez had both Seaton goals against Sands.

Seaton will take on the St. Michael’s University School Blue Devils in a semifinal today at 12:45 p.m.
