A confrontation between three people in Kelowna’s Landmark District ended with a man being stabbed in the leg.
RCMP were called to the 2100 block of Vasile Road around 11:15 p.m. on July 2 for reports of one man chasing another with a knife.
It was the second stabbing in two days in the city. The other occurred on Canada Day at Richter Street and Coopland Crescent.

Investigators determined that an upset resident of the area confronted two people experiencing homelessness, and assaulted one of them.
The other man pulled a knife when the resident kicked at him, which caused lacerations to his leg.
All three men then left the area.
The resident was treated and released from hospital with minor injuries, and officers arrested the man with the knife.
He has since been released while the investigation continues.
“We have high-quality video and audio of the incident and it’s abundantly clear to us what happened,” said Cpl. Michael Gauthier. “We are still awaiting a fulsome statement from the man who sustained injuries to his leg and we will recommend charges to the BC Prosecution Service against anyone who has met the elements of a criminal offence.”
