Residents near the Vernon Water Reclamation Centre may notice an increase in smelly odours while maintenance work is done at the facility.

Starting as early as Monday, May 29, crews will begin scheduled maintenance work on components of the facility, and as a result, the city says residents and passersby could potentially notice an odour increase.

The work is expected to be completed by June 2 and is not expected to impact daily operations at the facility.

The city says all efforts will be made to reduce odours leaving the site, however, “some odour transfer may be unavoidable.”

“The city appreciates everyone’s understanding while this work is being complete.”
