Shoplifter eludes arrest by police

Vernon RCMP were called to a shoplifting report at the Real Canadian Superstore Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

She got away with the groceries, he got caught with the gaming goods.

Vernon RCMP were called to a shoplifting report at the Real Canadian Superstore Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

There, they arrested a 22-year-old man from Vernon after police report he attempted to steal $400 worth of Xbox 360 products, and about $1,200 worth of groceries.

“An unknown female was with him at the time, and she was able to get away with the groceries,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

“She was last seen leaving in an unknown vehicle.”

The male suspect was held in police custody pending a first court appearance Wednesday.
