Vernon RCMP closed down a portion of Pottery Road after shots were fired Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. and police say a house was struck by bullets.
“There were three children and two adults at the home at the time of the incident. However, no one was hurt,” said Corp. Dan Moskaluk.
RCMP investigators also examined nearby Hillview Elementary School and confirmed there was no damage to the school property.
When asked if this was a targeted incident or random, Moskaluk said, “RCMP investigators will be certainly knocking on doors conducting neighbourhood inquiries, which may help establish more information.”
A section of Pottery Road was closed off early Thursday during the investigation and it was reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
“The investigation is ongoing with efforts being made to establish the motive for the particular house being targeted said Moskaluk.
