There are more ways for local residents to get involved in Canada’s junior A hockey championships.
Single-game tickets have been released for the RBC Cup, which will be at Kal Tire Place from May 10 to 18.
“It is the second time Vernon will play host to Canada’s national junior A championship,” said Mike Lane, event chairperson.
“Vernon won the national title on home ice in 1990, beating New Westminster 6-5 in overtime in one of the most thrilling finals in the event’s 43-year history.”
For this year’s RBC Cup, single-game tickwets are $20 for Vernon Vipers preliminary round games and $15 for all other preliminary round games. Single tickets for the semifinals will be $22 and $25 for the championship game.
Those prices do not include additional fees.
In addition to single-game tickets, full-tournament ticket packages are still available for $199 (plus applicable fees), and seven-game Vipers packages, including Vernon’s four preliminary round games, both semifinals and the championship game, are on sale for $129 (plus applicable fees).
The newest ticket option to go on sale is the two-game premium pack, which includes the Vipers’ tournament-opening game against the east region champions May 10, and the nationally-televised championship game May 18. It is available for $39 (plus applicable fees).
Tickets can be purchased at the ticket window at Kal Tire Place or at www.hockeycanada.ca/rbccup.
Vernon has won a record six national championships (1990, 1991, 1996, 1999, 2009, 2010).
