With the snow finally stopped, road crews across the North Okanagan are stepping up action.
In the City of Vernon, main roads have been cleared and crews are now moving into residential neighbourhoods.
James Rice, public works manager, says it will be a busy couple of days for his crews as they move from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.
“The roads will be narrow because of the amount of snow.”
It’s expected that cleanup of downtown Vernon will occur overnight Tuesday and Wednesday.
“We hope to re-establish the parking areas,” said Rice.
In Spallumcheen, keeping the 400-lane kilometres of road cleared has been a challenge.
“The main roads are not bad and we have something for everyone. There are a couple of dead-ends that we have contractors cleaning out,” said Ed Forslund, public works manager.
