Winter is getting revved up in Vernon with the B.C. Provincial Snow Show, sure to be a golden event for riders of all ages and abilities.

The show, in its second year, is organized by the Vernon Snowmobile Association and gets underway at Kal Tire Place Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry is by donation at the door with all proceeds going to the Easter Seals Camp for Kids.

“This shows that the snowmobile industry gives back to the community,” said Craig Moore, Vernon Snowmobile Association director of events and memberships.

“Last year was successful with 14,250 people counted through the door and an amazing amount of $11,406 was donated from the door admission to the Easter Seals Camp and we are hoping we can match or beat last year’s numbers.”

Another feature is front and centre at the show, as evident with avalanche safety gear, courses and equipment.

“We as a club love this sport and really promote safety first,” said Moore.

And of course the show will feature all the new snowmobiles, snow bikes, all the latest outerwear, snowmobile decks and trailers. There will also be sled wraps, videos and even seminars. Or check out the vintage snowmobiles and pro riders, including Reagan Sieg, Brock Hoyer, Jamie Iwaschuk Cody Kaliszuk, Stephanie LaRoy Schwartz, Brett Turcotte, Julie-Ann Chapman, Randy Swenson, Hicks Brothers, Trent and Tyler Backus, Jeremy Hanke and many more.
