Splatsin chief re-elected

Wayne Christian voted back in to a two-year term by band members in recent election

Splatsin First Nation members have shown confidence in the leadership of Wayne Christian.

Christian was re-elected chief Jan. 6, topping the polls with 123 votes. Placing second was Stuart Lee with 85 votes.

Elected as band councillors were Agnes Celesta, Ronald Christian, Daniel Joe, Reno Lee and Lawrence (Randy) Williams.

The term for chief and council is two years.

The Splatsin First Nation is part of the Shuswap Nation.
