The motion for the proposed seniors development complex was defeated, Tuesday night, with only Coun. Janet Peake and Mayor Peter Waterman in favour.

The Summerland Arena Banquet Room is once again jammed packed with those waiting to hear more on the Banks Crescent development.

This is the second night all eyes in Summerland have been focused in on this public hearing on the controversial 424-unit development.

Mayor and council are both present.

Summerland municipal council will vote this evening on a proposed seniors development complex.

The proposal is for a 424-unit development on Banks Crescent.

On Monday, during a six-hour public hearing, council heard from more than 80 people, many of them opposed to the controversial development.

The vote this evening is to approve third reading.

The meeting will be held in the Summerland Arena Banquet Room, 8820 Jubilee Rd., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
