Thieves strike mailboxes

Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP are investigating a series of mailbox thefts that have occurred in the last week.

A Canada Post community mailbox on Crosby Road, off Bella Vista Road, had been broken into sometime overnight Jan. 22.

Two days later, police were notified that three community mailboxes on Davison Road and Old Kamloops Road had been broken into sometime overnight as well.

On January 22nd, 2017, RCMP were notified that a Canada Post community mailbox on Crosby Road had been broken into sometime overnight.

“RCMP are still investigating to determine what was stolen in these incidents,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

Police remind residents to pick up their mail – if it’s in a community mailbox – as soon as possible.
