Thieves who attempted to steal ATM at Vernon casino sought

RCMP are looking for two suspects in a green pickup truck

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a break and enter that had just occurred at the Lake City Casino, located on Anderson Way, on Dec. 5 just after 4 a.m.

Surveillance images of the incident show two male suspects as they smash through the front door gaining access to the front lobby area, followed by an attempt to steal an ATM. The theft was unsuccessful and the thieves drove off empty-handed, not before causing significant damage to casino property.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, however, police are releasing images of the suspects in an effort to make an identification.

Suspect one is a male wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with jeans and white runners, while suspect two was wearing a dark-coloured puffy jacket, black ski mask covering his face with dark-coloured pants and black runners with white soles.

The vehicle is described as a green Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck with a canopy of similar colour. The canopy has a small sticker on the rear window on the lower right-hand side.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com. You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.
