Timeline changes for City of Vernon budget process

Council meeting begins at 2 p.m. Thursday instead of 9 a.m.

Vernon city council will continue with its 2016 budget discussion Thursday at 2 p.m.

The meeting was originally scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

“Members of the public can provide input at 4:15 p.m. Thursday and again at 10:30 a.m. Friday,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications officer.

Wednesday was the first day of the budget process.

The proposed budget calls for a 1.8 per cent tax increase for operations and 1.9 per cent for infrastructure.
