The second round of the Top 20 Under 40 has been announced.

The second set of recipients in the KPMG Top Twenty under 40 include an entrepreneur who has gone into franchising, a lawyer, a veterinarian, a small business owner and an optometrist.

The KPMG Top 20 Under 40 recognizes the next generation of leaders in the North Okanagan who are making their mark through business success and community involvement.

“Recognizing some of the talented young professionals in the region has multiple benefits,” said Tracy Cobb-Reeves, Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce president.

“It’s important for our community to know the caliber of talent we have and what they are doing to sustain and grow our region. It can also encourage investment and attract other talented professionals to our community.”

The recipients were selected among close to 50 nominations and the second set of recipients include:

Dustin Griffin, a lawyer with Kidston and Company

Morgan Higgins, an entrepreneur and founder of Smooth Effects

Trinity Smith, a veterinarian and partner at Central Animal Hospital

Dave Sturgeon, owner of CK Design Kitchen and Bath Cabinetry

Tanner Udenberg, an optometrist and partner at Vernon Optometry

The first five recipients were Taylor Dedora, Deanna Fester, Sherrilee Franks, Tracy Knight and Brad Swanson.

The next recipients will be announced Oct. 4 and all recipients will be honoured at a special recognition event Oct. 20 during Small Business Week.
