Speed tables were recently installed on Kalamalka Road in Coldstream.

Upset is being driven over Coldstream’s new speed humps.

The traffic calming tables on Kalamalka Road are frustrating at least one local resident, who wants them removed.

“If it’s not cars bottoming out, it’s grabbing gears,” said Dan Paterson, who has lived at his house for 25 years and has never had an issue until now.

Paterson is upset that residents were not contacted before the speed humps were installed. He suggests that rubber speed bumps be purchased for Coldstream Elementary which the janitor could put out before and after school.

Sovereign support

A historic home in Coldstream is getting a makeover.

The Sovereign House needs a new roof and a fresh coat of paint among other upgrades, which are being looked at for 2017.

The $11,000 to complete the work on the historic home are being considered in Coldstream’s budget.

The budget also shows $300 in support for the Buy Local! Buy Fresh! maps for 2017 and 2018.  That is a reduction in Coldstream’s previous support of $500 annually.
