More details are known about Patrick Nicol’s memorial service.

Nicoll, a Vernon councillor and regional district chairperson, died Jan. 15 and a memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church.

“In order to accommodate additional public parking, the right-hand driving lanes on Alexis Park Drive between 30th Avenue and 39th Avenue will be closed to use on Monday between 1 and 4:30 p.m.,” states a City of Vernon release.

“The city is requesting the public’s co-operation in reducing congestion and increasing safety by avoiding the Alexis Park Drive area during this time period. Bylaw officers along with Community Policing volunteers and staff will be on hand to direct traffic.”

Because of the limited parking spaces at Trinity United Church, street parking will be accommodated and drop-off areas will be provided at the church.

There is limited seating at the church, so a live video feed of the service be held at Kal Tire Place and the Schubert Centre.
