Suspects are still at large in three Vernon robberies in the past week and-a-half.
Two of the incidents are believed to involve the same suspect – the 32nd Street Shell gas station was robbed July 17 followed by an attempted robbery at M&M Meat Shops July 18.
The most recent incident, an armed robbery at the Royal Bank in the Shops at Polson Park July 22, isn’t believed to be related.
“We’re looking at two totally different types of operation here,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson. “How the suspect approached the teller, different institutions. There are a number of things that would make us think it is not the individual from earlier.”
There are no suspects in the RBC incident and no arrests have been made. RCMP are looking for a male suspect, 25-to 30-years-old, five-foot-nine with a stocky build, brown hair and clean shaven with brown eyes, wearing a black ball cap and a black wind breaker.
“The suspect arrived, lifted his shirt indicating, ‘I have a weapon,’ demanded cash. So was a weapon produced no, however there was indication of a weapon,” said Molendyk.
The suspect description for the robberies at Shell and M&M’s is: a male, between 19-to 22-years-old, 5’8”, with black hair and brown eyes of average build. He wore a black windbreaker with track pants and a white hat.
Anyone with any information on any of the above incidents is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-545-7171 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
