City of Vernon crews were in the right place at the right time Wednesday morning.
Driving down Tronson Road, next to the Vernon Regional Airport, crews came upon a truck which had just got caught in the slush and ended up hitting a fire hydrant.
The hydrant was not pouring out water, but crews were quick to shut off the water supply to the hydrant.
The driver of the Dodge truck and his furry passenger were not injured.
