Trustees hold tight with wages

For the second year in a row, trustees have approved a zero increase for their indemnity

Vernon School District trustees have frozen their wages again.

For the second year in a row, trustees have approved a zero increase for their indemnity.

“Unless our employees get a raise, we will not take one either,” said Bill Turanski, chairperson.

Government policies have led to unionized staff not receiving an increase in their wages.

The chairperson receives $13,600 a year while there is $12,100 for the vice-chairperson and $10,600 each for the trustees.
