Two cyclists sent to hospital after being struck by a truck

RCMP are seeking public assistance to locate the vehicle

Police are looking for a vehicle that hit two cyclists and didn't stop.

On Friday at 8:02 p.m., the RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Service responded to two cyclists being struck by a vehicle in the 8400 block of Buchanan Road in Coldstream.

"Both cyclists were thrown from their bikes which sustained major damage," said Const. Tyler Jackson.

A 55-year-old Vernon woman sustained a concussion and back injuries while her 17-year-old daughter suffered a scraped knee.

"Both cyclists were transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for treatment," said Jackson.

Initial reports suggest a dark coloured, full-size, newer truck was involved.

Anyone who has information on the vehicle is asked to call the RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers.
