United Way event sets a record

Drive-thru breakfast raises $14,303 for non-profit activities in the region

Breakfast was the most important meal of the day for North Okanagan non-profit groups.

The United Way’s drive-thru breakfast at the Best Western Vernon Lodge raised $14,303 Thursday.

“This is a new record for this event,” said Linda Yule, executive director.

“A big thank you to all of the sponsors and all of the volunteers that helped make this event a huge success.”

The breakfast was the kick-off for the United Way’s fall campaign, which hopes to raise $300,000.

The funds help 25 local non-profit agencies provide services to the community.
