Members of the Vernon Fire Department take a course on vehicle extraction Wednesday at Vernon Auto Wreckers.

They learned different technics to quickly and safely get a trapped occupant out of a vehicle after an accident.

New car technology uses hardened steel that they are unable to cut with their tools so they have developed alternate ways of gaining entry into the vehicle.
