Flames engulfed a sport utility vehicle at a home at 43rd Street and 25A Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

“It had been sitting there for some time and the owner doesn’t know why it would catch on fire because it had ran out of gas,” said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP spokesperson.

“It’s definitely suspicious.”

The investigation involves the RCMP and the Vernon Fire Department.

“There are a few questions that need to be answered,” said Molendyk.

The fire caused extensive damage to the fence next to the vehicle.
