Vehicle fire under investigation

Vernon firefighters were called to the 3500 block of 24th Avenue Wednesday morning

Extensive damage was done during a vehicle fire Wednesday.

Vernon firefighters were called to the 3500 block of 24th Avenue just after midnight where they found a Dodge Caravan engulfed in flames.

"There was heavy damage to the driver's seat and the front passenger's seat," said Jack Blair, deputy fire chief.

The fire department and the RCMP are involved in the investigation but it's not known if the blaze is suspicious.

"I can't really say at this point," said Blair.
