Vehicle recovery on Highway 1

Watch for black ice and slippery sections along Highway 1.

Highway 1 is reduced to single alternating lanes in both directions 15 kilometres west of Salmon Arm, according to DriveBC,

A vehicle recovery is taking place and it is unclear when the road will be fully reopened.

Drivers travelling along Highway 1 are cautioned to watch for black ice and slushy sections from Sicamous to Craigellachie.

While the TransCanada Highway east of Revelstoke will be closed in both directions from noon until 4 p.m. for avalanche control on Dec. 30.
