A 26-year-old man reported getting hit by a vehicle while he was riding his bicycle on Pleasant Valley Road

Vernon RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a hit-and-run incident.

A 26-year-old man reported getting hit by a vehicle while he was riding his bicycle in the 6300 block of Pleasant Valley Road around 9 p.m. Sunday.

“The victim suffered a broken leg and road rash on his arm,” said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP spokesperson.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older white Chevrolet Suburban with square head lights. The cyclist was not able to get a licence plate number.

“The victim told the police the vehicle stopped momentarily, then drove off,” said Molendyk. “So he believes the driver knew they hit someone.”

The police are asking anyone with any information on this crash to call the RCMP detachment at 250-545-7171, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
