Vernon business hacked at most vulnerable moment

Vernon Teach and Learn has fallen victim to an email account hack

A local family that is already hurting beyond belief has suffered another setback.

The Henke family's business Vernon Teach and Learn has fallen victim to an email account hack.

The business is advising customers that if they receive any emails with the subject line 'Overdue Payment - Vernon Teach and Learn' to not open it or click any links, and just delete.

"As long as you don't click the attachment links in the email you should be OK," the downtown store advises customers.

It advises anyone who has clicked the attachment that others may be receiving the same hack email from them.

"You will need to change your own email password right away and the problem should be solved.

"We're very sorry this happened and are hoping this hasn't caused our valued customers any issues at all."

The hack hurts Vernon Teach and Learn at a time when staff/family are mourning the loss of their mother Lynella Henke on Sunday Nov. 3.

Husband Trevor and his two daughters are also still hurting from the loss of daughter Lynza this summer.

The community is rallying around the family and local toy store, with many encouraging purchases from the downtown shop to help the family.
