You can win a pair of skis from a Vernon manufacturer Saturday.

Local manufacturer Skevik is hosting a release party Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Triumph Coffee (3401A-30th Avenue). The event will feature a release party of Skevik’s 2017-18 ski lineup, ski-art exhibit, coffee, a chance to meet the makers of Skevik Skis, and an opportunity to win a pair of skis.

Skevik Skis was started by two local brothers, Gregg and Glenn Anderson, in 2008. Since that time, the operation has moved out of their childhood home to a state-of-the-art production facility in Vernon. Skevik is unique because they use Canadian maple wood in the construction and work with B.C. artists to design the top sheet. One of the top sheets this year depicts SilverStar Mountain, designed by Vancouver artist, Aaron Campbell.

Locally made and sold worldwide since 2008, the Anderson brothers will be at Triumph Coffee on Saturday to launch their 2017-18 lineup featuring top sheet designs from B.C. artists.

Currently on the cover of Ski Canada Magazine, there will also be a Geoff Holman artist exhibit.

This event is meant to raise awareness for local makers and marks the beginning of a two-month exhibit for Skevik Skis at Triumph Coffee.
