B.C.’s top male curlers are garnering praise from the City of Vernon.

Mayor Akbal Mund has recognized the accomplishments of Vernon’s Jim Cotter and his rink — Ryan Kuhn, Tyrel Griffith and Rick Sawatsky — after their 7-6 win at the Canadian Direct Insurance B.C. Men’s Curling Championship at the Vernon Club Sunday.

“On behalf of the City of Vernon council, staff, and management, we would like to congratulate the Jim Cotter curling rink for winning the B.C. championships this past week to represent B.C. at the upcoming Brier in Calgary,” said Mund.

“Congratulations Rick, Tyrel, Ryan and Jim.”
