One of the plastic tunnels at the Grahame Park playground has been removed following a fire late Saturday night.

Some late-night activities ended with part of a Vernon playground catching on fire.

Firefighters were called to the Grahame Park playground at Fulton Secondary Saturday at 11:39 p.m.

“They found a portion of the plastic tunnel on fire,” said Vernon Fire Rescue deputy chief Jack Blair.

Damage was contained to the one plastic tunnel, which has since been removed from the playground.

The fire remains under investigation and RCMP are also investigating.

“It’s kind of unusual that time of night,” said Blair.
