Vernon resident faces allegations of child pornography

The alleged offences took place between August 2011 and August 2015.

The man accused of four arsons in the North Okanagan is facing more criminal matters.

Court records indicate William Murray Phelps Munton, born in 1961, is also facing child pornography charges.

The records show Munton was remanded in custody to face two charges of making or publishing child pornography and one charge of possession of child pornography pending his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Thursday.

The alleged offences took place between August 2011 and August 2015.

Munton was arrested June 1, charged with four counts of arson and released from custody in connection with several 2014 arson cases in the North Okanagan.

Munton’s next appearance in Vernon Provincial Court on that matter is slated for July 14.
