Vernon's Vasek Pospisil will play for an Olympic medal Friday in Rio.
Pospisil and partner Daniel Nestor of Toronto will face Americans Jack Sock and Steve Johnson for the bronze medal in men's doubles tennis after both teams lost semifinals Thursday.
Pospisil and Nestor fell 7-6, 7-6 to Spain's Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez while Sock and Johnson lost in straight sets to a duo from Romania.
Pospisil and Sock, as partners, won the Wimbledon men's doubles crown in 2014.
