Victims identified in Lumby crash

The incident occurred Dec. 6 on Highway 6 near the Tolko mill

The victims of a deadly motor vehicle accident have been identified.

Diedre Naomi-Ann Hughes, 57, of Vernon, and her daughter, Emma Maria Danielle Froh, 22, of Lumby, died Dec. 6 in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 6, near the Tolko mill.

According to the B.C. Coroner’s Service, Froh was the driver of the vehicle, which was westbound on Highway 6 when it was involved in a collision with a eastbound SUV. Both were deceased at the scene.

Road conditions were noted to be icy at the time.

The B.C. Coroner’s Service and RCMP continue to investigate the accident.
