A bridge over troubled water is being replaced in Lumby.
Council has decided to direct $65,000 in reserves towards a new bridge leading to the campground after a truck collapsed the current structure in August.
“We are going to replace it as soon as possible,” said Coun. Randal Ostafichuk.
“It will be an engineered bridge and it will be able to take more weight than the old one.”
There are also plans to install a footbridge that currently isn’t being used to provide access for pedestrians.
Medieval festival approved
Medieval enthusiasts will be able to make some noise.
Lumby council is waiving the noise bylaw until midnight Sept. 14 and 15 so the Society for Creative Anachronism can hold a special event in Royal Park.
“We are really excited about seeing them come to town,” said Mayor Kevin Acton.
The event will include musical instruments and singing.
