The fire is under control as of Thursday afternoon.

A new fire has sparked in Fintry Provincial Park between Kelowna and Vernon.

The fire, discovered around 4 p.m. on June 29, is said to be under one hectare in size but remains out of control at this time.

The Lower Shorts Creek fire is listed as being lightning caused.
