At Vernon, on Sunday, January 12, 2003, at the age of seventy-five, the angels came to take Abe Giesbrecht of Armstrong to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-three years Tena in January 1992, six brothers and two sisters. He leaves to mourn his second wife Mary and two daughters: Lois (Jim) Klassen, children Ryan, Brittany and Brody of Armstrong; Gaydene (John) Safonoff, children Savannah and Sierra of Burns Lake. Also survived by brothers and sisters Dick (Clara), Ann (Otto), Nettie, John (Ruth), Helen (Reg), Marie (Jake), Dave (Norma) and many extended family and friends. Abe was well known for his cheerful, caring and gentle nature. His “Mr. Fix it” reputation and his dedication to the church, has made him very well known in the community and afforded him many dear friends. He will be missed dearly by all. Visitation will be held at Mountain View Funeral Chapel between 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2003. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2003, at Armstrong Bible Chapel. Pastor Greg Schmidt officiating. Interment in family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery.
